What to know
There are 1.7 million concussions a year in the USA alone.
You get a concussion when you get hard impact in your chest , back, or head. You get it because the hit makes radiation which shakes the brain around and it slams against the skull and that makes the brain get a concussion.
There isn't a rating on concussions. Some people think there are like mild, moderate, and severe. When there really isn't because everyone has a different sensitivity when they get hit.
Some people also think concussions are mostly diagnosed from sports. When they really aren't. There is a device called the I Device which is a thing that is supposed to see if you have a concussion or not. The way they work is you get an iPad some headphones and a blind fold type of thing and you would you look at the iPad and the iPad has these games (but not really fun games) that you would roll a ball on a piece of wood or you would have to read a bunch of letters and see how you did. you would take it twice and if you had a millisecond different you had a concussion. Some women may disagree with this but women are more prone to concussions because men have the stronger necks. Doctors have not found a cure to concussions. People say the cure is to sit in a dark room for a long time when you head head would heal at the same time as if you just do what you do during your daily lives. Doctors say genetics might play a roll in concussions because if somebody in your family have had many concussions you might get a lot of concussion. In football if you get slammed in the head by somebody else during special teams it is 190 gs of force and the average speed of you getting hit is 20 mph. Studies show that this 15 second impact is equivalent to getting smashed in the head with a slug hammer.
